A new smartphone for gamers has been introduced in the Chinese market! To compete with the Razer Phone, Xiaomi decided to invest in the Black Shark company to announce its first gaming smartphone, which following the powerful specifications, differentiated hardware and standing out with a gamepad accessory.
All You Need To Know About the Xiaomi Black Shark
Black Shark comes with all that feature we expect from a gaming smartphone in 2018: it features the powerful Snapdragon 845 SoC made by Qualcomm in 10nm lithography with maximum speed up to 2.8 GHz. In conjunction with the Adreno 630 GPU, it will be enough to run all types of games smoothly.
With LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 flash storage, Xiaomi offers the Black Shark in two variants: 6GB RAM and 64GB internal memory, and 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The company also added a cooling system to the smartphone to keep cool the processor cores from overheating. The company claims that the liquid cooling system will allow a cooling of up to 8°C to avoid loss of efficiency or possible choking.
Unlike the Razer Phone, the Xiaomi Black Shark does not come to the market offering a screen with refresh rate of 120 Hz, but that does not mean that Xiaomi has not invested in this issue: here we have a 5.99-inch display with FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution, pixel density of 403dps, and panel has been manufactured in the 18:9 pattern.
In addition, we have the Pixelwoks processing technology found in third generation Iris chipset – even in Black Shark. This provides better performance in viewing videos. The company behind the novelty claims that the device is able to achieve a level of quality that “exceeds many of today’s highest performing smartphones.”
The smartphone will feature 12 bands to support 4G LTE worldwide, even if it is initially sold only in Chinese territory, and offers support for two carriers.
The Black Shark also comes with the physical SHARK button which allows users to access Shark Space: a store dedicated to the most powerful titles and games that can consume all the graphical power of the smartphone. Just click the button on the left side and enjoy the game.
In addition, the modified software has an excellent gesture feature in the fingerprint sensor: when you’re in a game, swipe your finger through the fingerprint sensor from the top down (with the device horizontal) to get quick access to functions like notifications, improve performance, view CPU and GPU consumption, enable Wi-Fi and various other options.
For optics, the device has a dual rear camera: 20MP sensor with a f/1.75 aperture and 1.0μm pixel size and secondary 12MP sensor with a f/1.75 aperture with 1.25μm pixel size. Both optical have assemblies 6 lenses and phase detection focus (PDAF). It can also able to record 4K UHD video at 30fps. For selfie, there is a 20MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, and 5 lenses.
The company also introduced the Gamepad accessory: a gadget that the user attaches to the smartphone and can enhance the mobile gaming experience. It is connected to the device using Bluetooth 4.0 and has an internal battery of 150mAh, which can last up to 3.5 hours.
Unlike the Moto Snap Gamepad from Motorola, it does not fit on the smartphone by magnets on the back of the smartphone: only the design that attaches to the back of the smartphone and to the sides of the device is enough for you to be confident that you can play with ease.
