Vivo iQoo Gaming Smartphone With SD 855, 12GB RAM, 6.41-inch FHD+ display Launched

Along with the Vivo V15, Vivo also announced the iQoo as the company’s first gaming smartphone under its new sub-brand iQoo. The Vivo iQoo gaming smartphone is designed for mobile gamers and photographers with its high-end specs including Snapdragon 855 SoC with liquid cooling, up to 12GB of RAM, a 6.41-inch Full HD+ water drop notch display, a triple rear camera setup, and 44W Vivo Super Flash Charge fast charging technology.

Vivo iQoo Price and Availability

The Vivo iQoo price in China starts from CNY 2,998 – approximately $447 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs CNY 3,299 – approximately $491. While the 8GB RAM with 256GB version costs CNY 3,598 – approximately $536 and the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model with matte black carbon fiber textured back cover costs CNY 4,298 – approximately $640. It is available for order now and goes on sale in China from March 6, 2018. The handset comes in Electro Optic Blue and Lava Orange color options.

Vivo iQoo Specifications

The Vivo iQoo features a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display with waterdrop notch, Full HD+ (1080 × 2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 91.7% screen-to-body ratio. It has an aluminum alloy frame with the back cover has two electro-optic lines that hides a colorful LED strip that lights up for notifications and when gaming.

It is powered by a 2.84 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 640 GPU and 6GB LPDDR4x / 8GB RAM with 128GB / 256GB internal storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. It also has two hidden pressure sensitive buttons for gaming, 4D gaming experience with real-time recognition of the game scene that vibrates the phone to intelligent match the scenes.

On the camera front, the iQoo bears a triple rear camera setup: a 13-megapixel Sony IMX263 sensor along with a wide-angle lens, f/2.4 aperture. There is also a 12-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/1.79 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash. For selfies, the iQoo has a 12-megapixel camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture at the front.

The Vivo iQoo an in-display fingerprint sensor, also sports Monster Touch shoulder buttons at one of the side panels to offer four point operations to gamers — without using any additional accessory. There is also Vivo’s vapour cooling system that is claimed to reduce as much as 12-degree Celsius of temperature, without hampering the performance. The Vivo iQoo also has a list of Multi-Turbo features that are designed to customise the performance levels as per user requirements. You can particularly switch between AI Turbo, Centre Turbo, Net Turbo, Cooling Turbo, and Game Turbo modes.

The handset runs on Android 9.0 Pie -based on Funtouch OS 9 out of the box. It packs a 4000mAh battery with 44W ultra-fast flash charge that lets you charge the phone from 0 to 50% in 15 minutes, to 85% in 30 minutes, and 100% in 45 minutes. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, and for connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5, NFC, and USB C. The device measures 157.69×75.2×8.51mm and weighs 196 grams.
