Vivo Apex smartphone was first showcased at Mobile World Congress 2018, with a screen-to-body ratio up to 98% and fingerprint sensor under the display, is no longer just a concept phone, but a truly existing product, coming to market in the second half of this year.
As expected, the launch took place over the last few hours, and in addition to confirming other key features of the device. We also have new images from the launch event, through the various test stations.
Vivo Apex surprises us all thanks to its display, the front has an almost bazeless design with a 5.99-inch OLED display and COF technology, able to hide sensors like proximity, fingerprint detection, earpiece and speaker under the panel. The fingerprint sensor covers about half of the display and supports the recognition of more than one fingerprint.
Coming to the Vivo Apex specifications, the device will be able to stand out in the next flagship range thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and its frames almost absent, (from the left and right measuring only 1.8 mm while the lower frame it is just 4.3 mm thick).
The Vivo Apex measures only 7.8 mm despite the presence of the hidden front camera, placed on the top edge and can be recalled when required in just 0.8 seconds. As per the Vivo tradition, the multimedia sector integrates a dedicated DAC, three amplifiers and a dual rear camera with Super HDR support and image processing thanks to an Artificial Intelligence algorithm.
According to the latest information from China, Vivo Apex will go into production starting next May, assuming an availability scheduled for the summer, starting with some selected markets.
