Toshiba Tecra X40 14-inch Ultraportable Laptop with Kaby Lake Announced

Toshiba announced the availability of its Tecra X40 notebooks, a 14-inch laptop with a compact design which fits primarily in professional fields. With a weight of 1.25 kg and a thickness of 16.9mm, the Toshiba can compete with 13-inch notebooks while providing the power of an Intel Kaby Lake processor, FHD touchscreen display, WiFi AC Pro and Windows 10 OS.

Toshiba Tecra X40 made with a premium magnesium alloy chassis featuring shock-absorbing measures and company’s own honeycomb reinforcement technology increased level of durability. This new Toshiba laptop design based on Mil-STD-810G standards to survive in extreme temperatures, vibration, shock, humidity, altitude, drops, dust and solar radiation.

Toshiba Tecra X40 also comes with multiple security elements including proprietary BIOS, Face Authentication, Fingerprint Reader, Trusted Platform Module, BitLocker Drive Encryption, Device Guard, Credential Guard, Intel Authenticate, Smart Card Reader and Security Lock Slot solutions.

Coming to the specifications, the Tecra X40 features a 14.0-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) / HD (1366 x 768) multi-touch wide viewing angle display and it is powered by 7th Generation Intel Core Processor with vPro technology. It will be customizable for different configurations, providing, SSD support and high-capacity battery which is rated for a maximum usage time of up to 13 hours.

For connectivity, this Toshiba laptop includes 2x USB-C port, USB 3.0 port, an HDMI, and a microSD card slot as well as a headphone/mic combo port. The USB-C port features reversible plug orientation and supports Display, Power Delivery and Thunderbolt 3. You can also use new Toshiba Thunderbolt 3 Dock with this laptop which includes 2x USB-C, 4x USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, VGA/RGB, DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, two HDMI and a Headset jack.

The Toshiba Tecra X40 price in USA is $1,353 for Intel Core i5-7300u with 8GB memory version and has been listed on Amazon store. Toshiba also offers Thunderbolt 3 Dock and multiple USB-C Adapters have been priced at $299.99 and $44.99 to $88.99 respectively.
