Sony has announced its new compact camera for Vloggers and influencers – Sony ZV-1. The digital camera is built around a 20.1-megapixel 1″-type Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor and ZEISS 24-70mm f/1.8-2.8 lens from the Sony RX100 III, IV, and VA.
Specifications are generally consistent with the latest models of the RX100 series. The compact camera received a focusing system at 315 points, covering 65% of the image with a speed of 0.03 seconds with the detection of the eyes of the subject. The ZV-1 can shoot 4K video at 30 fps and 24 fps, while you can use the LUTs template (S-Log2, S-Log3 is also available). You can also record 1080p video with a resolution of up to 120p and high-speed, scalable video up to 960p. The ZV-1 does not have a built-in viewfinder or headphone jack, but it has a Multi Interface Shoe for installing an external microphone.
The 3-inch display has a resolution of 1.229 million dots with a 176° tilt and 270° rotation. With dimensions of 105.4 x 60.0 x 44.0 mm, the weight of the camera is 295 g. The camera works for 4 hours without any problems and charges from USB with simultaneous operation.
As for the features, the Sony ZV-1 includes a number of functions and modes designed to facilitate video blogging. They are based on Sony’s highly reliable Eye AF capabilities to ensure that your shots are in focus and allows for quick and smooth focus transitions between a subject’s face and an object placed in front of the lens. A directional microphone unit with three capsules is built into the top of the camera to help isolate what is said from the surrounding noise.
There is a “Background Defocus” mode, which automatically opens the aperture to the maximum setting, which is accessed using the button at the top of the camera, and an autofocus mode that will prioritize nearby objects if you hold them in front of the camera and not continue to focus on your face. In addition, there is a red indicator light mounted in front to indicate the recording time of the camera.
