Sony Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact have no more secrets: less than 48 hours left for the official presentation that will take place at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona. And now both new smartphones of the Japanese house have been unveiled in new press renders and technical specifications.
According to the Evan Blass, Sony Xperia XZ2 will have a 5.7-inch Full HD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 (the compact version will have a 5-inch display) and will feature the latest Android 8.0 Oreo OS and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Both devices will have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, while the rear and front panel will be in 3D glass with the aluminum frame (polycarbonate for the Compact version). Looking at the press renders, it immediately emerges that the screen-to-body ratio on XZ2 has been implemented by Sony. Thus, succeed in obtaining a smartphone with thinner frames than the previous models.
Sony Xperia XZ2 will be available in four different colors: black, silver, green and pink. To attract more attention is the photographic sector, it comes with a 19-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture (the same as Xperia XZ Premium) with 4K HDR recording and super slow-mo in Full HD. The Xperia XZ2 Compact stands out from the larger model, but the details have not yet been revealed. For this, we will have to wait for the event on Sunday.
As for the audio sector, the S Force stereo speakers will be present on both models, but only XZ2 integrates a haptic feedback system able to synchronize the vibrations with the sound.
Sony Xperia XZ2 offers a 3180mAh battery (rechargeable via USB Type-C and wireless), while the XZ2 Compact has a smaller 2870mAh battery (without wireless charging).
