Sony SNC-VB770 is a new security camera which can record images and videos in dark night conditions, even when the subject is almost invisible to the naked eye. This is a 4K mirrorless camera, E-mount-mount lens with 12.2-megapixel full-frame sensor (similar to A7S mark II).
By using a large sensor, this surveillance camera can shoot 4K video at 30fps in extremely low-light environments down to 0.004 lux (.002 lux is a moonless clear night sky). Surveillance cameras are mostly recorded low resolution images and videos, but Sony goes towards using full-frame sensor and rotating at high resolution to be able to crop and observe many different areas of the image on the canvas.
Specifically, users can crop the 4K video into the 4 different images at VGA resolution (640 x 480) for ease of observation. And yet, Sony VB770 intelligent scene capture automatically identifies the scene and can self adjust parameters such as WB, shutter speed, ISO accordingly to achieve the highest video quality.
This device can be controlled by a mobile device through a wireless connection, and users can also transfer photos / videos to the LAN through the integrated RJ45 ports. In these images, Sony uses a 35mm f/1.4 Zeiss lens. with the E-mount, high optical quality and large aperture. The Sony SNC-VB770 with simple and flexible design; will monitor good video quality. Sony Japan will sell this Sony surveillance camera in August 2016, around $7,500 USD.
