Sony recently announced a new camera model called A7S II, the next version of the A7S was introduced in January 2014. As expected, new Sony A7S II officially supports 4K video recording directly to memory card, camera designed based on the A7R II as well as support 5-axis image stabilization.Sony A7S II Release Date

Sony has applied a full-frame 12.2 MP Exmor sensor similar to the old version, integrated EVF electronic viewfinder with 0.78x magnification and the Zeiss T * coating. Additionally shutter cycle durability of the camera is also increased up to 500,000 times and also supports a silent shooting mode. Like Sony A7R II, A7S II supports 4K video recording capability directly to the memory card in XAVC S format with full pixel readout without pixel binning in full-frame format. Full pixel readout without pixel binning is also employed when shooting Full HD movies which means that it collects information from approximately five times as many pixels that are required to generate Full HD and condenses the information to produce extremely high quality movies.

Sony also applied for the first time in the A7 series, a Full HD record 120fps at 100Mbps with full pixel readout without pixel binning in full frame format. Sony A7S II also supports the new color profile as S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3 and S-Gamut3/S-Log3. These profiles provide a higher contrast range and easy color correction. Gamma Display Assist function can track Images, autofocus when shooting S-Log movies and Zebra functionality also has been improved.

The Sony A7S II supports 169 AF point, 6.76 times faster than the A7S. Although not equipped with a hybrid autofocus mechanism, but Sony said A7S II still has the ability to react quickly in low light situations (such as in the EV-4). The A7S II also features an aluminum metal case, 5fps continuous shooting, support charging via USB even while recording.

Sony A7S II full-frame camera will be available in Europe in November, priced at €3,400. While in the US market the price will fall around $3,000 – approximately $500 more expensive than the Sony A7S and less expensive than the Sony A7R II.
