Sigma fp Price in US Starts at $1899, First Sale on End of October

A popular photography online store B&H has officially listed the Sigma’s first full-frame mirrorless camera with the L-mount. The Sigma fp was announced back in July this year, the manufacturer revealed the specifications, but did disclose the Sigma fp price at the launch time, promising that the new product would be on sale will appear this fall.

Bhphotovideo.com has begun accepting pre-orders for the Sigma fp camera. Thanks to this, now the price became known. The camera costs $1899 for the body only and $2,199 for the kit with the 45mm f/2.8 lens. As for the shipment of orders, it should begin at the end of October.

The basis of the camera is a 24.6MP Full-Frame BSI Bayer CMOS Sensor. Allegedly, Sigma fp is the smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless camera with an interchangeable lens. With dimensions of 112.6 x 69.9 x 45.3 mm, the device weighs 370g (422g – with battery and memory card).

An interesting feature of Sigma fp is the presence of a large radiator, which prevents the sensor from overheating when shooting video. The camera allows you to shoot 4K video with a frame rate of 30 fps. You can shoot with recording on an external recorder that connects to the USB 3.1 Gen 1 port with a USB-C connector. You can also use the CinemaDNG format (RAW with 12-bit representation). For removable media, there is an SD slot with UHS-II support.

Designers abandoned the mechanical shutter in favor of electronic. Burst speed reaches 18 fps. The camera is weatherproof and is equipped with a 3.2-inch touch screen. It also includes HDMI and USB 3.1 interfaces, a microphone, connectors for an external microphone, remote control for shutter release and synchronization of an external flash.

The sensitivity range of ISO 100-25600 extends to ISO 6-102400. Supports DNG format with 14-bit data representation. Cooling the sensor with a radiator allows you to shoot for a long time. The camera offers plenty of optional accessories to build it up as you see fit. These extras include the HU-11 Hot Shoe Unit, HG-11 Hand Grip, LVF-11 LCD Viewfinder, and plenty more.
