Sigma has announced the 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art and 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lenses for the L mounts.
The Sigma 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens incorporates a series of low dispersion and aspherical elements which help to improve sharpness and clarity.
The lens features Sigma Super Multi-Layer and a protective coating has been applied to the front element and is both water and oil-repellent to aid in cleaning. It has bayonet mount and rubber sealing is incorporated in the mount design to render it dust- and splash-resistant. The weight of the 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art is 1.2kg and priced at $1,399 which can be pre-ordered through Bhphotovideo.com store and available from December 16, 2019.
The Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art is a short-telephoto, portrait-length prime lens with f/1.4 aperture is designed for full-frame Leica L-mount mirrorless cameras, working in low-light conditions and is also designed for high-resolution rendering.
It utilizes FLD and SLD glass to control chromatic aberrations and color fringing for notable clarity. Additionally, a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
It can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 157.5mm equivalent focal length. It is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals, for greater precision and uses in wide temperature variations.
