Sharp Aquos S2 has been officially launched in China. It is one of the world’s first smartphone uses FFD (Free Form Display) technology to make small holes precisely in the screen for front camera and receiver; and Snapdragon 630 14nm Mobile Platform. Sharp Aquos S2 price in China has been set at CNY 2,499 – approximately $372 for SD630 with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM version while the SD660 with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant will cost CNY 3,499 – approximately $521. The device comes in Black, White, Blue and Green color options and will go on sale from August 14 in China.
Sharp Aquos S2 Specifications
The Sharp Aquos S2 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ (1080 x 2040 pixels) resolution with 550 nits brightness, 135 percent sRGB color coverage, 84.95 percent screen-to-body ratio and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top of it. The device has a metal cutting-edge technology frame design and has a front fingerprint sensor that is placed in the physical Home button below the screen is just 3.6mm area, which also the world’s narrowest fingerprint scanner.

The handset is available in two options: it is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC (Quad 2.2GHz Cortex A53 + Quad 1.8GHz Cortex A53 CPUs) paired with Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB internal storage. While the 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB storage version is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC (Quad 2.2GHz Kryo 260 + Quad 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs) with Adreno 512 GPU and both supports external microSD card slot up to 128GB.
On the camera front, the Aquos S2 flaunts a dual rear camera sensor: 12-megapixel autofocus camera with PDAF, f/1.75 aperture, 1.4um pixel size, and secondary 8-megapixel camera sensor with dual-tone LED Flash. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.4um pixel size to capture stunning self-portraits and quality video calling.
The handset runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and 3020mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 out of the box. It supports hybrid SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB Type-C. It measures 141.8 x 72.04 x 7.9 mm and weighs 140 grams.
