SanDisk launches 256GB Extreme and Ultra microSD Cards

SanDisk has just released two new microSD cards including SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card 256GB which is now fastest in its class and SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card with 256GB memory capacity to users towards high storage needs. SanDisk 256GB Extreme

All new SanDisk Ultra Premium and Extreme microSD cards come with the same 256GB capacity, but the difference lies in the write speed of the Extreme version will be higher.

New SanDisk 256GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card is rated to deliver transfer speeds of up to 100MB/s, and write speeds of up to 90MB/s, this number nearly equivalent to the 64GB Extreme Pro version. With 256GB of storage, users can record 4K video up to 14 hours. This new SanDisk 256GB SD Card is an ideal choice for your Android smartphone, tablet, camera or drones devices.

On the other hand, the SanDisk 256GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card version is also announced by the manufacturer, that also features read speeds of up to 95MB/s, although the write speed is not specified. Recently announced 200GB Ultra cards have write speeds of about 20-25 MB/s. It is ideal for Android smartphone and tablet devices. It can record Full HD video up to 24 hours.

As expected, the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card 256GB version will be on the market in August with the price tag of $150. While the SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card 256GB version has been priced at $200 and it will be distributed in the fourth quarter of 2016.
