After 44 years of producing lenses, finally Samyang Optics has launched its first autofocus lens – 14mm F2.8 ED AS IF UMC and 50mm F1.4 AS IF UMC Lens for Sony E Mount Cameras. The duo lenses have full-frame sensor and carrying the Samyang Optics’ exceptional optical technology most popular at the present time. Both the Samyang 14mm F2.8 ED AS IF UMC and 50mm F1.4 AS IF UMC lenses are specifically designed to work in harmony with full frame mirrorless cameras in Sony E mount.
New lenses are houses metal body solidify the build quality with the internal focus system and sleek design; and will be able to utilize phase detection AF as well as contrast detection. Filter diameter of this duo lens is 67mm, is a choice after years of research by Samyang, help better grip, less vibrant. The aspherical lenses have been included in both lenses to minimise aberration and unnecessary light dispersion, delivering high resolution from the centre to the corners of the image. The 14mm F2.8 with widest angle; and the F1.4 of 50mm and F2.8 of 14mm apertures are by far the brightest of full frame mirrorless lenses, offering the best quality images under various exposure conditions along with a wonderful bokeh effect.
Samyang Korea has not yet announced the price of this duo lenses currently and we will have to wait until Photo & Imaging 2016 events will take place in Seoul, South Korea to get more information. Samyang also known under the Rokinon and Bower. This is a Korean company specialized in manufacturing lenses, many users preferred Samyang lenses because of high optical quality, low price, but the lack of ability to autofocus. With the new addition to Motor focus on his lens, it will be an exciting new option for camera users. We hope that new lens prices will be low enough to create tough competition.
