Samsung will show its QLED 8K TV (7680 x 4320 pixels) at IFA 2018. Some of its advertisement banners have appeared in Berlin that announce its launch. In the image, you see a veil that is removed from a TV apparently similar to the Q9FN because of the frame.
We can also read the “QLED 8K, prepare to be amazed at IFA” in the banner. The news does not come unexpectedly. Samsung QLED 8K TV of the Q9S series was shown at CES 2018 last January.
At the QLED & Advanced Displays Summit in Los Angeles (27th – 28th June 2018) the first details about the 8K TV series were released between 2018 and 2019. Therefore, IFA will be the stage chosen for the official presentation and probably for the launch of the first models.
The information communicated in June speaks of a 2018 series consisting of three models: 65-inch, 75-inch, and 82-inch, then speaks of “120Hz”, 4,000 cd/m2 brightness, full coverage of the color space BT.2020 and 12-bit support. 2019 series should be expanded with a 98-inch model and a second series consisting of a 65-inch and 75-inch models. QLED 8K TV should also debut the AI Technology.
More information will come at IFA 2018, scheduled for August 31st to September 5th (Samsung press conference is scheduled for August 30th).
