Some time ago, the tech network has rumors that Samsung is planning to revive its Galaxy Xcover rugged smartphone series. Recall that the last of device – Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3- was released in the beginning of 2015. After two years, the South Korean Giant has introduced the fourth generation Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4.
New Rugged Smartphones protected against dust and water according to the standard IP68, and is made in impact-resistant housing that is certified to US military standard MIL-STD-810G. That means new Samsung rugged smartphone is able to operate any environment. On top of that it comes with Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.

New Galaxy Xcover 4 features 4.99-inch display with HD (1280×720 pixels) resolution, and this display will also work when you are using the phone with gloves. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor that’s backed by the Exynos 7570 14nm chipset might clubbed with Mali-T720 GPU. It packs in 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal expandable storage.
On the camera front, the handset flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. While there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie and video calling. It packs in 2800mAh battery under the hood and also comes with three physical buttons at the bottom for Home, Navigation, and Multitasking.
As mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 main highlights are military-grade MIL-STD 810G rating for ruggedness, and toughness and can survive low and high temperatures, falls, vibration, humidity, and salt in the environment. It also comes with IP68 certification rating for dust and water resistance, and the company says it can withstand immersion for up 30 minutes in up to 1 metre of water.
For connectivity options, it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS, and weighs 172 grams.

The Galaxy Xcover 4 is listed on the company’s German website with a price tag of 259 Euro – approximately $272; and it will be available in Europe around in early April 2017.
