After seeing it in the leaked images and in the many rumors, here’s the Samsung officially bringing the brand new Active series smartphone with the announcement of the Galaxy S8 Active.  As of now, Korean manufacturer has kept its new portfolio limited to US. Samsung Galaxy S8 Active will be exclusively available from AT&T, and it will be available from August 11 in Meteor Gray or Titanium Gold color options.

The device is shatter-resistant up to 5 feet on a flat surface. Water-resistant up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. It passed military specification (MIL-STD-810G) testing against a subset of 21 specific environmental conditions, including temperature, dust, shock/vibration, and low pressure/high altitude.

No compromise here on the photo front: The Galaxy S8 Active boasts 12-megapixel dual-pixel primary camera with 12x optical zoom, f/1.7 aperture and LED flash. There is an 8-megapixel autofocus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture to capture bright images in low-light conditions. The display size is unchanged, besides now it’s a shatter-resistant screen which protects the Super AMOLED Quad HD 5.8-inch screen with aspect 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
