Samsung is known to launch ‘Active’ versions of its flagship Galaxy smartphones every year. Now the South Korean giant has been tipped to follow the same routine with recently launched Galaxy S8 as the Galaxy S8 Active, and the first image of the device has been leaked from Wireless Power Consortium, which gives us the first look of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 Active (SM-G892A) smartphone.
According to the image, looks like a Galaxy S8 devoid of curved edges and with the addition of a few mm in a frame, on each side, which makes it extremely similar to a certain competitor. Obviously, the design differs from the current range, Galaxy S8 Active comes equipped with a thicker body that’s more resistant to knocks and bumps, and presumably compliant with the MIL-STD-810G standard of durability.
As usual, it’s expected to launch via AT&T in the United States, so we should find the same Snapdragon 835 SoC for the standard version, 5.8-inch AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. There are no details about the battery, but we might expect something more than the 3000mAh currently used, since the Active versions usually introduce improvements in this area.
