Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) With Full HD+ Infinity Displays Launched

After leaked in hands-on video, Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) have been officially announced in Europe. Both are mid-range smartphones come with a Full HD+ Infinity Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and a curved glass layer on both front and back sides.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) price is EUR 499 – approximately $588, while the Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) price is EUR 599 – approximately $706 and will be available from early January 2018 in Black, Orchid Grey, Gold and Blue color options.

These have a 5.6-inch and a 6-inch (1080 × 2220 pixels) Full HD+ Infinity Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio with curved glass on the back and front. Both devices are powered by 2.2 GHz octa-core Exynos 7885 14nm processor paired with Mali-G71 GPU. The Galaxy A8 (2018) packs 4GB of RAM with 32GB / 64GB of internal storage with micro SD card support up to 256GB, while the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) comes with 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 32GB storage, and micro SD card support up to 256GB.

For optics, both new Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones have a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and LED flash; and 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual front cameras, both with f/1.9 aperture. This lets you switch between cameras for close-ups with the background to portrait shots and the Live Focus feature lets you adjust the bokeh effect before or after you take the picture. These have new video digital image stabilization (VDis) technology for shake-free videos and hyperlapse feature for capturing time-lapse videos.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) also comes equipped with a rear fingerprint sensor, MST and NFC support for Samsung Pay and IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance. Both devices run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and pack 3000mAh, and 3500mAh battery, respectively with support for fast charging.

Both support dual SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C and 3.5 mm audio jack options. Dimensions are 149.2 x 70.6 x 8.4mm and weigh 172 grams for Galaxy A8 (2018), while the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) measures 159.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm and weighs 191 grams.
