In recent days, the Samsung has made available the Galaxy A5 2017 in Russian market before other global markets. The smartphone has been priced at RUB 27,990 – $474 USD as per the current exchange rate. 
On basis of available information, the handset is now available for purchase in the USA via third party retailer Amazon.com; and the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 price in USA is set to $383 for Blue, $393 for Gold; $399 for Black and the Pink color variant costs $639. All these are International variants with Dual SIM 4G LTE functionality.
The South Korean giants touts that the new Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series of smartphones -including the Samsung Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy A5 2017, and Samsung A7 2017 – sport “enhanced” cameras compared to their predecessors, optimised for low-light conditions. The company also adds the smartphones feature a simplified camera UX that makes taking selfies, switching modes, or applying filters and effects much simpler. A Food Mode is also being boasted off.
New Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series smartphones also come with IP68 dust and water resistance, apart from a metal frame and 3D glass back panel that draws on “Samsung’s premium design heritage.”

The Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution that can convey a pixel density of 424ppi, 71.5% screen-to-body ratio, 16M colors and also come with Always-on display feature. The handset is powered by a 1.9 GHz octa-core processor that’s backed by the Exynos 7880 chipset coupled with Mali-T830MP3 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The device bears 32GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card – up to 256GB. 
On the camera front, the Galaxy A5 2017 flaunts a 16-megapixel rear camera PDAF, f/1.9 aperture, with LED flash and features like touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. There is a 16-megapixel front camera with an f/1.9 aperture and both cameras are able to record 1080p video at 30fps.
Connectivity options on board include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C. The handset runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and a 3000mAh battery out of the box. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, and a fingerprint scanner on the Home Button. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. It measures 146.1 x 71.4 x 7.9 mm and weighs 157 grams.
