Samsung Galaxy A30s Quick Review: Is it worth upgrade from Galaxy A30?

Samsung launched the Galaxy A30s in the US market, which is already available to purchase around $269.99. So is this Samsung Galaxy A30s worth the price in this segment?

Design

This time a third camera sensor has been added to the Galaxy A30s, also a vertically designed triple rear camera setup that deviates in the left corner and an LED flash below. But this camera design is somewhat raised and if the manufacturer does better, it is indeed a big plus point.

When holding the Galaxy A30s, first we feel the difference compared to the Galaxy A30 is the back design is more beautiful and there is no fingerprint sensor. The back is designed with a striped texture to create interesting visual effects and this pattern is also present on the more advanced Samsung Galaxy A50 model.

The model we hold in hand is the Prism Crush Black, which is never outdated, elegant and classy. When the light reflected on it also has an interesting gradient color effect. In general, the rear color design is not new and is implemented by many manufacturers in the mid-to-high-end segment.

One minus point about the design of the Galaxy A30s is that it still uses plastic, but the design still feels seamless and easy to hold in the palm. In addition to the Samsung logo that is imprinted, the back does not have any information that causes a cumbersome feeling.

Now, let’s go over the details of the Samsung Galaxy A30s to see if it is interesting or not.

The bottom of the Galaxy A30s is a USB-C port to support fast charging of the 4000mAh battery, external speakers, vocal mic and traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. The device’s top is nothing special, but only the presence of another recording mic.

To the right of the device are the power button and the volume up and down buttons, which are covered in black with the color of the device. On the left is the SIM tray.

Coming to the front, the Galaxy A30s uses an Infinity-V screen with a small notch, which is where the 16MP selfie camera is integrated, above that this camera cluster is a much smaller speaker range.

The bezels on both sides are quite thin, but the relatively thick bottom border makes the front a bit unbalanced, but in the mid-range segment, users can’t ask too much on the Galaxy A30s.

Features

The screen of the Galaxy A30s is 6.4 inches wide and comfortable enough for entertainment and gameplay. However, the resolution is only HD+, it is quite difficult to understand its predecessor Galaxy A30 comes with a panel that reaches FHD+ resolution but the Galaxy A30s has a lower resolution. Naturally, this somewhat affects the user experience and the display quality can be said at an acceptable level.

Like the Galaxy A30, the Galaxy A30s still has a 16MP selfie camera that supports autofocus, capture images with beautifying effects, bokeh, skin smoothing for girls to share photos on social networks.

Samsung Galaxy A30s is still equipped with Exynos 7904 processor combining 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, experience stable daily tasks and play games at a good level. It still integrates a 4000mAh battery that can be used within 1 day and supports 15W fast charging.

Coming to the upgrade points of the Galaxy A30s compared to the Galaxy A30. First, the Galaxy A30s has built-in in-screen fingerprint sensor which can be considered a plus when the Samsung A30s move much faster to catch up with the latest trend.

And the point we like most is the Galaxy A30s triple rear camera setup is upgraded more powerful than the Galaxy A30. Specifically, Galaxy A30s has a 25MP main sensor, combined with an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor and a 5MP depth sensor.

This camera system supports many features such as taking photos to remove the background, autofocus, HDR, Panorama, wide-angle photography when you travel or capture certain landscapes.

Final line

Compared to the Galaxy A30, the Samsung Galaxy A30s has a more beautiful, more fashionable design, an upgraded Triple rear camera system, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and all the parameters are completely similar to the Galaxy A30.

The device is already on sale in US via Amazon.com and Bhphotovideo.com online stores and comes in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Violet, and Prism Crush White color options. How would you rate the Galaxy A30s as a good upgrade of the Galaxy A30? Please share the views below!
