The Samsung C-Lab program will bring three innovative projects developed by the company employees to CES 2018 in Las Vegas, along with some ready-to-sell products made by seven startups previously included in the Creative Lab program.
The first of the projects is S-Ray (where “S” stands for “Sound”), a portable directional speaker that stands out for its small size and weight, making it suitable for use on the move. Different S-Ray solutions will be shown At CES 2018, including Neckband, Handy, and a smartphone cover.
GoBreath is instead a device developed for patients suffering from postoperative pulmonary complications. Patients commonly need to exercise deep breathing for faster recovery, with one of the conventional methods through use of an inspirometer. However, deep breathing becomes challenging for patients who have undergone surgery due to lung pain. Patients can refer to exercise guidelines and check how well their lungs have recovered through the app. GoBreath even offers a web and cloud service for doctors to help them monitor their patients’ recovery progress as well as provide reminders to practice.
The third project that Samsung C-Lab will bring to CES 2018 in Las Vegas is called Relúmĭno glasses, a pair of smart glasses that allow people with vision problems to see images in a more defined way. The companion app had already been shown at MWC 2017, and can now be exploited to the full through innovative smart glasses. The glasses work in conjunction with a smartphone, utilizing its processors and batteries, which makes Relúmĭno glasses light and comfortable to wear. The smartphone processes images from videos projected through the camera of the glasses and the processed images are floated into the display of the Relúmĭno glasses to help the wearer see things better.
Finally, there are seven start-ups projects which have been spun off from Samsung C-Lab, including LINKFLOW, Kitten Planet, lululab, KIDSOFT, Mangoslab, Innomdle lab, and analogue plus.
