Roland has already introduced the A-88MKII before NAMM 2020, a new 88-Key Hammer-Action MIDI keyboard controller for studio and stage with MIDI 2.0 support.
The Roland A-88MKII keyboard MIDI controller is equipped with a weighted hammer mechanism, USB-C connectivity, RGB-illuminated controls and much more. The peculiarity lies in the preparation for the MIDI 2.0 standard, so this new Roland keyboard would be the first from the manufacturer that could support the new MIDI 2.0 functionality.
The MIDI keyboard controller has a light and portable design with Roland’s PHA-4 keyboards, further features are three user-definable zones, an extended arpeggiator, and sophisticated split and layer functions. Roland’s pitch/mod lever and a range of RGB-lit controls are said to enable expressive sound control.
Eight assignable pads are available to control DAW functions, trigger commands and events, and energize real-time performance. Pad bank setups can also be saved for quick recall. There is also a dedicated sustain pedal input and two assignable control inputs that support expression pedals or footswitches. The USB-C connection with bus power only requires a single cable for connecting to Mac OS and Windows systems and is also iOS compatible.
The A-88MKII Roland digital piano offers the latest technologies for universal compatibility and convenience. This controller is ready to take advantage of the extended capabilities of MIDI 2.0.
