Ring company has announced the second generation of its Ring Video Doorbell security camera – Video Doorbell 2 with 1080p HD video, and removable, rechargeable battery pack (charged through micro-USB port; micro-USB cable included with purchase). The Ring Video Doorbell 2 connects to a home’s Wi-Fi network, and now improved with both the technical features as well as customization.
Unlike the first version, Ring Doorbell 2 is able to make video recordings in 1080p resolution (the first model stops at 720p) and is equipped with a removable, rechargeable battery. According to the company, Ring Doorbell 2 comes with an improved night vision video that is also highly customizable and adaptable to any environment thanks to the presence of interchangeable faceplates.
Like its predecessor, the second generation doorbell security camera also features two-way audio and motion detection and can connect to existing wired doorbells. With the new Video Doorbell 2, Ring has yet again innovated and expanded its ‘Ring of Security’ to offer affordable security solutions for every home and further reduce neighborhood crime.
To stream or watch your recorded video, the company provides an iOS app, Ring Video Doorbell 2 is compatible with both iPhone, and iPad. Video recordings can be stored in the cloud for up to 60 days with a payment of $30 per year.
The Ring Video Doorbell 2 price is $199, and currently, is listed on Amazon store and will be available from June 24, 2017.
