Asus Fonepad 7 review:

Asus which has been known for a long time with the Tablet PC product that supports SIM and phone call feature. Last year they were released a product that is Fonepad 7. With the successes obtained, They continued to hit the market a new generation of Fonepad 7 andriod tablet in 2014 with attractive prices. The Asus Fonepad 7 is one of the first tablet with dual SIM 2 slot 7 inch tablets. Although the demand for dual SIM phones are quite large, but it’s hard to argue that this is really needed with a tablet. And in fact, Asus is also just being one of the first manufacturers to do this.

Asus Fonepad 7 Dual SIM

The front of the Asus Fonepad 7 does not carry many different from a previous slate tablet sells by Asus in the past. Still the IPS screen with magnitude 7 inch black border is around the ball. Above the screen has call speaker also placed with the loudspeaker and the camera on it. The edge of the rounded, lightly with a metal border around the gray quite beautifully.

Design:

The front design is quite nice. 5.0 MP camera lens is placed right above the elevation at the back, quite striking with the Asus logo. Another plus point is the back of Asus Fonepad 7 is made of plastic material with the texture, help to hold quite easily.

The power button and the volume button are also located off the back, right next to the left border. This design is quite strange for people who not using Asus products, and actually also a bit hard to control when used with one hand.

The right side is the SIM slot and memory card. Plastic cap of the slots this look seems pretty shallow, but still very good and delicate as it seems.

Display:

7-inch IPS display of the 1280×800 resolution, pixel density is 216 ppi. Though not a FullHD screen, but it has still ability to show quite pronounced. However, the relatively low screen brightness plus ball becomes more difficult. On the other hand, there is no light sensor so there is no brightness adjustment mode automatic. The contrast of the display is not high and the ability to show the exact color as well just average. But overall, with a low budget device this one is good.

Camera:

Asus Fonepad 7 equipped with main camera of 5 MP and the front was the 1.2 MP. But it does not support flash and this indeed is an unfortunate shortcoming. Clicking photos in low light without flash becoming very difficult. Like other devices launched this year Asus also provides users a custom application with basic settings such as white balance, ISO, exposure capabilities etc. It’s also has its own face recognition features.

Through the process of using the asus fonepad, we appreciate the quality of the highest level.  Photos taken from a pretty normal, consistent with the need to share or personal storage. The ability to shoot video 1080p to ensure sufficient stability. The front Camera also very nice for making video calls and take selfie with average quality.

Software:

The new tablet is present with 4.3 Android Jelly Bean OS with a custom interface. Asus has a present new user interface, notably the new message tray and add buttons to the Add-ons Widget. The asus fonepad 7 can also be used for multi-tasking quite conveniently, thanks to good big screen.

Notification tray provides quick setup as toggles for WI-Fi, mobile data, flight mode etc. and a lot of other options which you can sort them as you like. We also find popular apps/widgets are set more convenient for your use.

Asus offers a number of built-in apps in this droid tablet, which are calibrated the display setting and tinker as temperature, saturation and color. The App locks utility to provide password-protected application is a very useful feature with the Asus WebStorage. Asus also offers 16 GB of storage space clouds.

Overall, Fonepad 7 Dual Sim provides a number of software with good experience. Even there is not much change if you compare it to the other internet tablet or devices.

Performance:

Asus Fonepad 7 Dual Sim is equipped with 1.2 GHz dual core with Intel Atom Z2520/Clover Trail Plus processor and 1 GB RAM. We haven’t noticed any lag when navigating between the home screens and switch between applications. During comparison, Fonepad 7 Dual Sim gets fuller and better score against Nexus 7 notebook tablet and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.

The Asus Fonepad 7 offers 8 GB internal memory storage, which 5.21 GB is available for use. Storage can be expanded up to 64 GB with the help of a MicroSD card. Basic connections offered include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity options. No FM Radio. Asus Fonepad 7 : 2 SIM Tablet offers good call quality and signal stability, we have not encountered problems while making calls even in places with relatively weak signals. GPS connectivity also did not encounter any problems.

The loudspeaker on the Asus Fonepad 7 provides greater output, but the speaker’s position is lacking, caused the sounds. About the possibility of HD video recording we have nothing to complain, everything is convenient, smoother and run many different formats.

If you love playing games on a mobile device, Fonepad 7 can hardly meet the smooth. Some light gaming can play very smooth as Temple Run 2, but others high end games gets little lag. Especially with the game requires a graphics processor such as GP2 or Asphalt 8.

Battery:

Fonepad 7 Dual Sim comes with 3910 mAh battery and will allow you to comfortably with more than a day to use even if you set the display brightness at the highest level and 3G data usage at all times. During this time, you can call about 2-3 hours, play some simple games and browse the Internet. When watching movies continuously, the device can work 7-8 hours. The ability to entertain is pretty good with this battery.

Verdict:

Currently, some brands have started to offer wifi tablets with dual-sim but Fonepad 7 is one of the few products that can boast about the hardware specifications, software quality and good battery capacity at levels above average comes with a low-cost price. Asus Fonepad 7 Price around 9,000 to 12,000 INR. If you really need to use a tablet with the function of making calls and using 3G then this is a great choice.
