After the listing of the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi 8 Pro with bundle offers on Amazon in the US, Xiaomi India has announced the Redmi 8 smartphone in the country. Xiaomi Redmi 8 is a budget device comes with a 6.22-inch waterdrop notch display, up to 4GB RAM, Dual Rear Cameras and fingerprint sensor.
Redmi 8 Price in India and Availability
The Redmi 8 price in India starts from Rs. 7999 – approximately $112 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and Rs. 8999 – approximately $126 for the 4GB RAM with a 64GB storage model, but it will be available for Rs. 7999 for the first 5 million or 50 lakhs units via Flipkart.com and comes in Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, and Onyx color options.

The Xiaomi 8 features a 6.22-inch 2.5D curved glass Waterdrop notch display with HD+ (1520 × 720 pixels) resolution, and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 1.95 GHz octa-core processor supported by Snapdragon 439 12nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage / 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD card.
On the camera front, the device bears a 12-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX363 sensor, 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, 6P lens, Dual PD autofocus, LED flash and comes with AI scene detection for 33 scenes, has a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots. For selfie, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size, AI selfies, and portrait mode as well as AI face unlock.
The new Redmi device has an Aura Mirror design, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that comes with splash-resistant coating. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie -based on MIUI 10 out of the box. It packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging and comes with a 10W charger in the box. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby and for connectivity includes Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C. The device measures 156.48×75.41×9.4mm and weigh 188 grams.
