Plum Gator 3 and RAM 5 Rugged Smartphones Announced

Plum Mobile announced two new enterprise-oriented Rugged Cell Phones, dubbed the Plum Gator 3 and RAM 5 in USA. While both Plum rugged smartphones are already listed on the Amazon store at $100.98 and $75.92, respectively. 

It has been additionally noted that the new Plum rugged phones feature IP68 rating, and can resist a drop from the height of two meters, and be submerged up to 1 meters of underwater for up to 30 minutes.

The Plum Gator 3 features a 4.0-inch IPS LCD display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution that can translate a pixel density of 233ppi. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor which supported by MediaTek MT6580 chipset along with 1GB of RAM. It packs an 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 64GB.

The Gator 3 flaunts an 8-megapixel primary autofocus camera with Geo-tagging and LED flash. It has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for self portraits and video calling. The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and packs a 2400mAh battery that is claimed to deliver standby time up to 400 hours and talk time up to 14 hours.

New Plum Rugged Android Phones supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM radio options.

Coming to entry level rugged phone the Plum RAM 3, it comes with a 2.4-inch TFT LCD display 240 x 320 pixels resolution that can translate pixel density of 167ppi and the screen is covered with impact resistant glass. The RAM 5 is also IP68 certified water and shock resistant device similar to Gator 3. 

The RAM 5 also features a 1.3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, supports dual SIM slots, 2G, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM radio as connectivity options.

The handset powered by a 3000mAh battery that is rated to last up to 30 days in standby time, and normal usage or talk time up to 18 hours. Another great feature of the device is the built-in power bank so you just plug your USB cable into the device and go to the power bank option and turned on to charge other connected devices such as smartphones, tablets and more. The device also has a very powerful flash light on top of it with a dedicated button to activate it.
