Panasonic, a popular consumer brand, has refreshed its semi-rugged Toughbook CF-54 notebook. The latest iteration features bumped-up specifications as well as redefines the design to maintain a sleek and lightweight profile. Panasonic had introduced the Toughbook CF-54 notebook back in 2015, and now the refreshed version integrates the latest Intel Core Kaby Lake CPUs.
The new 14-inch Active IPS full-HD (1920×1800 pixel resolution) Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 rugged notebook model gives you an Intel Core i5-7300U vPro Kaby Lake processor with 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD storage options and running Windows 10 Pro operating system.
Design wise, though it is a semi-rugged notebook, the Toughbook CF-54 is the safest in its class, thanks to the magnesium housing, full protection for keyboard and display and the structure with honeycomb texture for maximum impact resistance. It can withstand drops up to 76cm in height, and, also equipped with an integrated handle.
Port wise, the new Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 has three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 2.0 video, LAN, Real serial port, audio output, VGA and SD card slot. Panasonic has added HD (1366 × 768 pixels) display option as well alongside the full-HD screen variant.
The company also claimed up to 10 hours of battery life, it is also available with the hot-swap option that allows you to increase its battery and remain operational even while the battery is drained. Consumers also have an option for a second battery, reaching up to 17 hours of juice.
