Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is the new version of the 2-in-1 rugged laptop designed to be used in any context. The first model was announced back in 2015 and is now the company to offer an advanced level in terms of both security and usability.
Toughbook CF-20 is resistance and the battery life is its real strength: it can be used up to 17 hours continuously in 2-in-1 mode thanks to the second battery, integrated under the keyboard, while it manages to cover up at 8.5 hours in tablet mode.
The rugged laptop has magnesium housing, an IP65 certification, MIL-STD 810G and weighs 1.89kg (950 grams tablet only). It has an integrated handle, a 10.1-inch WUXGA IPS display with up to 10-finger capacitive multi-touch, a brightness of 800cd/m2, 1920×1200 resolution and can also be used with gloves. The stylus pen (optional) is an alternative tool for interacting with the display in all weather conditions.
Inside it, we find the Intel Core i5-7Y57 vPro processor with 4MB cache and 1.2GHz – up to 3.3GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology. It has a fanless design, an Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and the Windows 10 Pro operating system.
There is no lack of 4G LTE connectivity (optional), the U-Blox 8 GPS option, the 2MP Windows Hello webcam with stereo microphones, the 8MP rear cam and TPM 2.0 which provides a key in the hardware to encrypt and decrypt the device in isolation, ensuring an extremely high level of safety. The magnetic strip reader for reading loyalty cards, driving licenses and associative cards is also optional.
Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 can be used in six different ways: as a laptop, in convertible mode, as a tablet, you can also hang it on a wall or arm and in vehicle mode (with support and antenna replication pass through to receive a strong signal even on board).
Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 will be available from March 2018 with 3-year warranty at the recommended price of EUR 3209 (basic configuration).
