Oppo R15 With Helio P60 SoC and R15 Dream Mirror Edition With Snapdragon 660 SoC Announced

After listed on its official website last week, Oppo has officially announced the Oppo R15 smartphone in China. The company also announced the R15 Dream Mirror Edition that is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC, while the R15 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 12nm chipset.

The Oppo R15 price in China has been set at CNY 2,999 – approximately $473 and the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition in Dream Mirror Red costs CNY 3299 – approximately $520, while the Ceramic Edition costs CNY 3499 – approximately $552. These are now available for order and goes on sale in China from April 1st; and comes in Snow White, Hot Red, and Star Purple color options.

The Oppo R15 features a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) OLED Super-V AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Both variants have a glass back, while the Dream Mirror Edition comes with a ceramic body. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor which supported by MediaTek Helio P20 12nm chipset coupled with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, while the R15 Dream Mirror Edition is powered by Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and paired with Adreno 512 GPU.

For optics, these also have a 16-megapixel rear camera 1/2.6″ Sony IMX519 sensor with 1.22μm pixel size and f/1.7 aperture and come with AI Intelligent Scene Recognition that can recognize 16 kinds of scenes and 120 kinds of multi-scene combinations and also comes with AI portraits with built-in AI chip. The R15 has a 5-megapixel secondary rear camera, while the Dream Mirror Edition features a 20-megapixel secondary camera with f/1.7 aperture. These also have a 20-megapixel front camera with AI smart beauty that can scan 296 feature points of the face, which is 16.5% more than the previous generation.

Both the phones have 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. These have a fingerprint sensor on the back and comes with VOOC Flash Charging to offer 2 hours of talk time with 5 minutes of charge. Both devices run on Android 8.0 Oreo -based on ColorOS 5.0 out of the box. R15 packs 3450mAh battery while the Dream Mirror Edition packs 3400MaH battery capacity. The company also said that it will build the Oppo AR developer platform with the strategic partner SenseTime.

It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby. For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C options. Oppo R15 measures 155.1 x 75.2 x 7.4mm and weighs 175 grams, while the Dream Mirror Edition dimensions are 155.3 x 75.0 x 7.5mm and weigh 175 grams.
