Oppo A57 has been quietly launched in China today, it is the latest affordable smartphone device from the Oppo Mobile Phone China in the A series, after the announcement of the Oppo A37 (review) in the mid-range segment. Oppo A57 price in China is set to 1599 Yuan – approximately $231, and it is available in Gold and Rose Gold color variant. It will be available for purchase starting from 12th December 2016.
The Oppo A57 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution with a pixel density of 282ppi, along with 16m colors and 2.5D curved glass layer on top of it. It has 5.63 mm narrow border, 63.48 screen-to-body ratio, and 450cd / m2 brightness.
It is powered by a 1.4 GHz octa-core processor that’s fueled by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) chipset paired with Adreno 505 GPU. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB with the help of microSD card slot.
On the camera front, the A57 sports a 16-megapixel autofocus primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and dual tone LED flash. It shoots Full HD 1080p videos at 30fps. It also comes with a camera features like professional mode, color filters, GIF animation, time-lapse, ultimate beauty, double exposure, front views, bokeh, HDR, continuous shooting, and more. There is a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with wide f/2.0 aperture to capture wide group selfies and high quality video chatting. The handset also comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor embedded in front Home button that can unlock the device as well as apps.
The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ColorOS 3.0 UI on top. It packs a 2900mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 24 hours and standby time of around 12 days. It has a dual SIM card slot on board along with 4G VoLTE connectivity, apart from 4G includes 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio connectivity options. It measures 149.1 x 72.9 x 7.65mm and weighs 147 grams.
