Onkyo continues updating the range of its AV receivers with Chromecast, and the latest edition is Onkyo TX-RZ820 and TX-RZ720. These models will be added to the TX-SR373, TX-NR474, TX-NR575 and TX-NR676 Onkyo receivers series. The TX-RZ820 is 7.2-channel flagship home cinema with Dynamic Audio Amplification delivers instantaneous high-current power to full-scale speakers and transient response across a wide 5 Hz–100 kHz spectrum. The TX-RZ720 offers THX Certified Select cinema-reference sound and powerful 5 Hz–100 kHz reproduction with thrilling dynamics and exquisite detail rendition.
Both Onkyo AV receivers support Multi-room network and analog audio, including streaming over Chromecast built-in* and DTS Play-Fi®*, are served to NCP-302 wireless speakers via FireConnect™ powered by Blackfire. Decoding Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X™, both the receivers also support Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), and BT.2020 to the latest displays, while a suite of connections integrates the receiver into home automation systems.
The multimedia functionality is quite rich: the DAC (digital to analog converter) is AKM AK4458, that supports PCM files with a sampling frequency up to 384kHz / 32-bit and DSD up to 5.6MHz. Both are also compatible FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, and WAV. The songs can also be played using different types of connections, including Bluetooth, USB or local network streaming via DLNA.
Connectivity to the network is managed via Ethernet and Wi-Fi and you can also use online streaming services like Spotify, Deezer, and Tidal. There is also multi-room functions via FireConnect and compatibility with AirPlay and DTS Play-Fi. Both are also coming with built-in Chromecasts functionality for streaming audio. The Onkyo TX-RZ820 model also sports the Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC), designed to filter the noise generated during the digital-to-analog conversion.
To complete with the automatic AccuEQ Room Acoustic Calibration paired with AccuReflex Phase Alignment for Dolby Atmos configurations. The available connections include seven HDMI inputs (one front, six rear) and two HDMI outputs with support for Ultra HD resolution at 60Hz, HDR10, Dolby Vision, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), BT. 2020, and HDCP 2.2 (except the front entrance), two Composite Video Inputs, two Component Video Inputs, three Digital Audio Inputs, six Analog Audio Inputs, Phono input (MM ), a USB port, and the 7.2 channel pre-outs (only on RZ820).
