Onkyo DP-S1 Portable Music player with Hi-Res DAC and Headphone amplifier

Onkyo audio has announced the release of a new portable music player with headphone amplifier and DAC (digital to analog converter) Hi-Res, therefore compatible with high resolution files. The product name is Onkyo DP-S1 lower range than the previous Onkyo DP-X1. The DP-S1 is made from a single block of aluminum and measures 94 x 63 x 15 mm with a weight of 130 grams only.

The interior features a high-quality components. Onkyo amplifier is a dual Sabre 9601K while the DAC is also Dual Sabre ESS ES9018C2M. There is a 16GB of internal memory which can be further expandable via using dual MicroSD slot (up to 416GB), a balanced output, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Micro USB port, Wi-Fi 802.11n dual-band and Bluetooth with A2DP, AVRCP and SBC profiles.

Onkyo Rubato DP-S1 supports many types of file: MP3, ALAC, WAV, AAC, FLAC, AIFF, DSD up to and MQA – a new audio technology developed by Bob Stuart, co-founder of Meridian Audio. It’s the technology that makes hi-res audio streaming a reality. However, the MQA compatibility is due via a firmware update in June.

Front of the onkyo amps player with a 2.4-inch touch screen display. As far as technical specifications are supported headphones with an impedance of 16 to 300 ohms unbalanced and balanced output 32 to 600 ohms. The maximum power output is 75 mW + 75 mW when using unbalanced output and 150 mW + 150 mW balanced. The signal / noise ratio is 115dB, battery capacity is 1630mAh claimed to about 15 hours of playback time.

Onkyo DP-S1 price in USA on the Amazon store is about $587 for the Japanese variant will be available in Black color option.
