Olympus Air A01 officially available in the US, at a price of $299

The Olympus Air A01 was first published in Japan, a similar device to Sony’s QX1 camera line, now today it is officially available for purchase in the US in just $299.

If this is the first time you heard about this type of new concept camera do not to worry because there is nothing very complicated to understand, it is really an independent Olympus Interchangeable Lens Camera with 16MP sensor same as Olympus E-M10 line camera, it has Micro Four Thirds Mounting but in itself does not have its own screen that uses your smartphone or your tablet device as a display and control.

The Olympus Air A01 look will relate to the Sony Alpha QX1 line, but with a smaller and better designed, wireless connectivity such as WiFi or Bluetooth and the use this Olympus Air Camera through an app to control its many new and unique shooting modes.

The Olympus Air A01 uses Electronic Shutter instead of the mechanical shutter, it also helps improve the shutter speed up to 1/16,000 – 4 sec. The Olympus Smartphone Camera may be attached to your smartphone via a side clamping jaw, it can hold large devices like Galaxy Note 4, or can be mounted on a tripod and connect with your device if it was located within the coverage area of your WiFi.

The Olympus Air A01 uses Bluetooth LE wireless connections to pair with mobile devices, allowing the user can turn on and use the Olympus camera with OA Central applications. A range of intelligent features is also included in the applications like portraits, artistic shots and 6 different automatic scene settings. It also includes features such as Art Filters, Creative photo collages and Clips (automatically combine multiple videos into one short video).

Many more advanced features such as Mode Dial shooting function, a super control panel, and the ability to control all your important settings like ISO, aperture, exposure, drive mode, aspect ratio and more. It has 81 point autofocus system can shoot continuously at a rate of up to 10fps and can provide 16MP JPG format images with medium quality, Full HD video recording @1080 / 30p, the battery capacity can fairly capture about 320 shots per charge. The Olympus Air A01 is compatible with all Micro Four Thirds Mount of Olympus, according to Olympus, they are also working on the other manufacturers adapter.

In addition, to save images on the phone memory or removable memory card attached to the Air A01, Olympus has also integrated with Amazon Cloud Storage to save your images and video automatically.

The Olympus Air A01 Smartphone Camera is already available for purchase on Amazon store, at a price of $299.99 with two black and white version does not include a lens, and the price of $499.99 with attached 14-42mm EZ lens.
