Official: Galaxy Fold will be back in September, With few Changes and Improvements

Samsung has finally broken the “silence” on the return of the Galaxy Fold, its first foldable smartphone was announced back in February this year, and was passed through the hands of some international journalists, in mid-April to then be immediately withdrawn due to structural problems that they jeopardized its operation.

Since April 26th, there has been no more detailed information regarding the problems and the time needed for a review and a return, or rather an official arrival on the market. Samsung Galaxy Fold will go on sale from September in selected markets, the company said on Thursday.

Samsung took a long time to fully evaluate the product design. It has made the required improvements and has also performed stringent tests to verify these changes. “The top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display has been extended beyond the bezel, making it apparent that it is an integral part of the display structure and not meant to be removed.”

Protections have also been added to prevent the entry of dust from the upper and lower part of the hinge. All while keeping the closing mechanism unchanged. The structure has also been reinforced with additional layers of metal placed under the folding display which should prevent any extraneous element from causing damage to the panel, even if it is inside. Finally, Samsung has reduced the space between the hinge and the body of the Galaxy Fold.

Along with these improvements, Samsung has also been continuously working to improve the overall Galaxy Fold user experience, including optimizing more apps and services for its unique foldable UX.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold will arrive in September, although there is no exact date, there are no confirmations as to the markets on which it will arrive, at least initially. In the past few hours, the absence of some firmware from the Samsung database has led us to think about the exclusion of some countries from the initial launch, but it is all part of suppositions.
