At the moment, if compared to other gaming consoles, the Nintendo Switch does not support any third-party applications that can stream videos. However, something is going to change, but at the moment only in the land of Japan.
Dwango has recently announced that tomorrow on July 13, in Japan. Nintendo Switch will be officially getting the Niconico application which similar to the YouTube video platform.
The newly announced app will also come with so many interesting features including the ability to create their own playlists to comment on various videos and search while watching the contents. Obviously, everything can also be used in various modes such as TV mode, tabletop mode, and handheld modes.
Nintendo Switch owners in the Japan will be able to download Niconico application at free of cost, which now available only in the Japanese language, directly from the Nintendo e-Shop.
Most likely, the Niconico app will never come to other regions but we are sure that soon the house of Kyoto will announce the arrival of similar applications for Westerners.
