Nokia 9 PureView: No Notch and Launch in January | Rumor

Updated on December 28, 2018:

According to the Russian website Nokia Anew, the Nokia 9 PureView will be announced in January. So the wait could finally be over, considering that the first rumors on this flagship of HMD have been started more than 12 months ago.

Nokia 9 PureView Launch

At the moment there are no official confirmations, but it is evident that something is starting to move.

Original Story:

The Nokia 9 PureView continues to be leaked. However, this time the images that appeared on the web were not related to its 5 rear cameras, but to its front panel, which features a somewhat different design from what was expected by the users.

In the images shared by Steve H. McFly, it is possible to see that the device can come with a display that appears to be in the 18:9 aspect ratio, and ended up being replaced by the addition of the notch, which apparently will not be present on the HMD Global smartphone.

At the top, you can see two sensors in the right corner, which appear to be flash and one specific for facial unlocking, and on the left side are the front camera, which is unique. Something that draws enough attention is the excess edge at the bottom, something that could have been leveraged by the company to extend the screen or reduce the size of the device by removing that unusable space.

It is worth remembering that there are speculations that the smartphone can come with a 5.99-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM and 4150mAh battery with the latest Android 9 Pie OS. The Nokia 9 PureView handset is likely to be announced in early 2019, so we’ll keep an eye out for more details about the device in the coming days.

And, dear reader, did you like the front of the device? Share your opinion in the comments!
