Nokia 9 PureView With Five rear cameras, in-display Fingerprint Sensor, 5.99-inch pOLED Display Launched

After months of speculation and leaks, the Nokia 9 PureView has been officially launched at MWC 2019 event in Barcelona. It comes with a Penta-lens camera includes three monochrome and two RGB lenses – all with the same f/1.82 aperture. It has a 5.99-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 9 Pie.

The Nokia 9 PureView price has been set at $699 and it will be available for pre-orders immediately in select markets around the world. The handset comes in Midnight Blue color only.

Nokia 9 PureView Specifications

The Nokia 9 PureView features a 5.99-inch pOLED display with Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution, 18.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by a 2.8 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 845 64-bit Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU, 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and packs a 128GB of inbuilt storage.

Nokia 9 PureView’s camera system has been developed in partnership with multi-sensor camera company Light. It has a 12-megapixels penta rear camera setup: two RGB and three monochrome lenses to collect up to 10-times the amount of light than a single color sensor, with ZEISS Optics. HMD Global has also worked with Qualcomm and Google to optimise the camera setup to fully utilise the Snapdragon 845 SoC’s power and work well Google’s Photos app.

Nokia 9 PureView captures HDR shots using five cameras simultaneously with up to 12.4 stops of dynamic range and a full scene 12MP depth map and fuse it together into one 12MP photo with outstanding dynamic range and depth of field to refocus later. It is capable of shooting 60-megapixel images in burst mode and can process up to 240 megapixels of data.

Each of these cameras is triggered when a person takes a shot and then the phone fuses these photos together to create a single image. It has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie. It also features the ability to capture images in uncompressed RAW “DNG” format and edit them directly on the phone with Adobe Lightroom and Native black-and-white photography.

The Nokia 9 PureView comes with in-display fingerprint sensor, runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box. The device has a water-resistant body with IP67 ratings and packs a 3320mAh battery with support for fast charging and Qi wireless charging. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby and for connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5, and USB C. The device measures 155 x 75 x 8 mm and weighs 172 grams.
