Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 (2017) has now started receiving Android 8.1 Oreo update. The update comes just a month after HMD Global released Android 8.1 Oreo update for the flagship Nokia 8 handset.
Android 8.1 brings several new features including Neural Networks API, hamburger emoji fix and developer APIs (API level 27), along with the latest optimizations, bug fixes, and security patches. The update also brings battery saving navigation buttons, revamped power menu, new settings menu and Bluetooth battery percentage, as mentioned in the changelog.
The Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 (2017) Android 8.1 Oreo update is over 866MB and 933MB in size, respectively and its package is downloadable only via an active Wi-Fi connection. The update also includes March 2018 security patches too. You can check the availability of the fresh update on your Nokia devices by going to Settings > System updates.
HMD Global also confirmed that the Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly from Android 7.1 Nougat and will also include memory management features. While the Nokia 3 should also get 8.1 Oreo in near future.
