It is said that the recently launched Nokia 1 smartphone has been catching the eye of many people. However, the biggest argument I’ve read is still at slightly higher price range compared to the same budget segment smartphones. Let’s take a look at Nokia 1 Review, is it worth buying?
The design of the Nokia 1 is reminiscent of Android-powered smartphones like the Nokia X with the ability to change the back cover in different colors, only the edges of the Nokia 1 are curved and soft.
The bezel of the handset is curved, it will easily fit into your hand and is also very easy to use. The weight of the device is quite light, it feels like a toy phone.
The interesting point of this Nokia smartphone is a colorful back cover to change every day. As we know, we will have up to 7 colors: Red, Black, Yellow, Pink, Blue, Gray, and White enough for a week.
Nokia 1 uses a 4.5-inch LCD screen with FWVGA resolution. The screen must be really appreciated as it is quite beautiful and natural, the text is also clearly displayed when you use to read newspapers or surf the web.
Like many other cheap smartphones, the Nokia 1’s screen is also very bright, comes with an auto-brightness feature which helps us to view the screen in heavy sunlight.
Nokia 1 is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. We also tested Geekbench and scored 492 points for single-core CPUs and 1265 points for multi-core CPUs.
The device runs Android Go 8.1.0 Oreo which is optimized for low-powered devices. We feel the touch operation of the device is still very smooth as on other smartphones. The built-in Android Go apps also have a fairly fast startup time.
We’ve also started experimenting with a few heavier game apps such as Angry Birds and Candy Crush. Nokia 1 still battles these two games at first a few seconds delayed at the start-up time.
Of course, there will be many questions asked to able to PUBG on Nokia 1 or not?. Our answer is definitely not. The handset configuration just enough to use the basic needs only.
However, the Nokia 1 camera is good enough, because at this price range it can not be more demanding. The main camera with a 5-megapixel resolution, paired with LED flash and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. Please take a look at some photos captured by Nokia 1 below:
Nokia 1 comes with a removable battery design, it has a 2150mAh battery capacity. In general, with the use of reading newspapers, surfing the web, Facebook and with few basic games, the device can be used all day. In standby, the handset has a battery life of up to 2-3 days.
We also used Geekbench software to measure battery life, the Nokia 1 reached 1024 points, consumes 10% of battery life in 38 minutes with 20% screen brightness and WiFi on. If calculated, the handset can be used continuously for 6 hours 20 minutes.
We have read a lot about the Nokia 1, and most of the people assume that the somehow Nokia 1 price is not reasonable. But we see the most valuable point of this device is the Android Go Oreo operating system which is quite smooth. Although the configuration of the device is not high. However, this is the first Android Go phone from HMD Global, so using the lowest configuration to reduce the price of the product is natural.
Nokia 1 is the best choice for whom? We think that this phone will be more suitable for people who are already using a high-end smartphone and want to add a second phone to back up.
This new Nokia smartphone comes with the basic features will help you read newspapers, check mail, surfing the web or social network. While the device missed out on battery. Coming to Nokia 1 price is £79.99 in UK and it can be pre-ordered via Amazon.co.uk. If only compared to the configuration you will see high, but compared with the Nokia brand and durability has been used by many customers, the price in our opinion is still acceptable.
