BH Photo is now beginning to sell a new Nissin MF18 Macro Ring Flash for Sony mirrorless cameras after the Nissin MG80 Pro flash light was announced back in December last year. This ring light with a leading guide number of 16 m has been available since 2011 for Canon and Nikon.
It has modeling LED adjustable backlight lamp, ADI / P-TTL TTL exposure control, Wireless TTL (optical, 4 channels) and high-speed sync. Structurally, the Nissin MF18 consists of two modules interconnected by cable. The flash control unit is installed in the camera’s hot shoe.
The back of the flash is equipped with a color OLED display and control buttons. The power of the MF18 is adjustable in normal mode in the range 1/1 -1/64, in Fine Macro mode from 1/128 to 1/1024. The control of the two blocks of the illuminator is separate. It is possible to update the built-in processor program via USB.
When used in manual mode, the flash can be adjusted in 1/3 EV steps from full power down to 1/64th power. The tube flash design is divided in half, allowing you to vary light output depending on the lighting conditions. This design also works in conjunction with the expansion flash head, permitting the use of this flash on lenses ranging from 49mm to 82mm in diameter.
