A new version of Nintendo Switch will debut next summer, at least according to a report released by Takashi Mochizuki on the Wall Street Journal.
The Kyoto house would then be working on a sort of “Nintendo Switch Pro” capable of extending the life cycle of the platform and revitalizing its sales. Therefore, there is the talk of a real “mid-gen” console that should propose some hardware changes and to improve the quality of the display.
According to the information held by Mochizuki, the new version of Nintendo Switch could mount a better display even if the implementation of OLED panels is excluded – it would continue to be of the LCD type.
At the moment we do not know for sure if Nintendo is actually working on a new version of the console, but Mochizuki has underlined that the information in his possession derives from companies and people close to the project.
At this point all that remains is to wait to find out if the Kyoto house will decide to follow the path taken by Sony and Microsoft with PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, pointing out that it is not the first time that we talk about a possible “Nintendo Switch Pro”.
