Nikon launches Nikkor Z 24mm f1.8 S Lens: Price, Specifications, and Availability

After the announcement of the Nikkor Z 85mm f1.8 S lens back in July for a full-frame mirrorless system, now Nikon has added one more member in the family with the launch of the Nikkor Z 24mm f1.8 S lens. It is a wide-angle lens well-suited to a range of subjects, including landscape, architecture, and reportage.

With the aperture of f1.8, the Nikkor Z 24mm f1.8 S suits working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers increased control over depth of field. It was designed for photographers and videographers looking to capture wide-angle landscapes or vivid street photography, a travel adventure or a stunning starscape. For videographers and content creators, this focal length is a staple for production due to its natural perspective.

The Nikkor Z 24mm f1.8 S will be a welcome addition to Z series shooters’ arsenals, boasting near-silent stepping motors for ultra-quiet performance, reduced focus breathing, a customizable control ring for smooth control of aperture and exposure compensation and the ability to take advantage of the in-camera 5-axis VR + eVR of the Nikon Z series cameras.

Autofocus is fast and quiet, thanks to a stepping motor, it has a programmable control ring can be customized for quick setting adjustments when shooting on the fly. Specialized elements reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations, while a Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating cut back on ghosting and lens flare. The lens barrel is dust and moisture resistant and it also includes the Nikon HB-88 Lens Hood.
