The new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f / 5.6E PF ED VR lens announced last August, which was to start selling in September as promised by the manufacturer. But for some reason this did not happen, and that Nikkor lens was only available in a limited number, not for all retailers. But now this new 500 mm lens is being sold on a large scale.
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens is now listed on the Bhphotovideo.com store for $3,598.95. Nikon has also announced the D6 DSLR camera last week which is also listed on the store to pre-booking.
This super-telephoto lens designed for use with FX-format Nikon F-mount cameras, this lens is also compatible with Nikon DX models where it will provide a 750mm equivalent focal length. It comes with One Phase Fresnel element and three extra-low dispersion lens elements work to greatly reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing, and color fidelity; and help to minimize the overall weight of the lens.
New Nikkor lens has a Nano Crystal Coating, along with a Super Integrated Coating, has been applied to lens elements to minimize surface and internal reflections for a marked reduction in lens flare and ghosting. It features a Vibration Reduction image stabilization to reduce the appearance of camera shake by four stops. Additionally, a designated Sport Mode is well-suited to working in fast-paced conditions and a Tripod Mode helps to suppress subtle ground vibrations when working atop a support system.
The 500 mm lens has a dust and moisture resistant magnesium alloy barrel, a removable tripod collar is included with the lens for well-balanced support when working from a monopod or tripod.
