New Netflix Mobile Plan in India only for $2.88 per Month

Netflix has announced a new mobile subscription plan exclusively for mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) for the Indian market only. The new rate has been announced during a dedicated event held in India, represents a real novelty for the streaming giant that wants to try to recover after the closure of a difficult quarter that occurred only a few days ago.

The registration of the new plan will have a rather insignificant cost: Rs. 199 – approximately $2.88 per month at the exchange rate. It brings features SD (480p) streaming only, one concurrent stream only, and availability on smartphones and tablets only. There’s no support for casting on TV with this lower-priced plan. At the time of writing, the plan didn’t appear to be accessible.

Ajay Arora, Director, Product Innovation, Netflix, said: “Our members in India watch more on their mobiles than members anywhere else in the world – and they love to download our shows and films. We believe this new plan will make Netflix even more accessible and better suit for people who like to watch on their smartphones or tablets – both on the go and at home”.

The new mobile plan will be destined only for the Indian market at least for the moment; the company has confirmed that the expansion of this offer in other markets is not planned.
