New Macbook Pro with Touch ID, Touch Bar, and New Design Launched

Apple has officially announced new Macbook Pro 15 inch and 13 inch variants with a completely new design: thinner, lighter, presence of the OLED touch strip at the top of the machine, which Apple calls it Touch Bar, 2nd generation butterfly mechanism keyboard with Force Touch trackpad and especially Touch ID fingerprint sensor located in the upper right corner, right where the old power button. 

First is the Macbook Pro 13 inch variant is now lighter, weighs only 1.36 kg, and 14.9mm thinner, that is 17% thinner than the previous model. Macbook Pro 15 inch model is 15.5mm thick and up to 20% thinner compared to the 2015 retina model.

Most important feature on New MacBook Pro is the multi-touch OLED control strip situated on the keyboard – Called TouchBar, which replaces the Function key row. It is fully interactive and context-sensitive. It shows simple system-side commands including a dedicated Siri shortcut, but adapts to different apps and workflows within them. We can also use it directly for send email, Photoshop tool selection, controls, edit images, and scrubbing a timeline while editing video. The strip screen also displays word autocomplete suggestions when typing.

MacBook Pro next generation 2017 model uses the second generation butterfly mechanism keyboard. The next important thing on the new Macbook Pro’s 2nd generation Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which is protected by a sapphire glass cover. The TouchBar responds to both taps and gestures. With sensors, multiple users can log into the device with just one touch. 

Another important point in terms of design is the massive Force Touch trackpad. All connectors will be replaced with Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with charging support. On display, Apple said the new MacBook Pro comes with up to 67% higher brightness, high contrast ratio of over 67% and the number of colors is greater than 25% compared to the previous model. Dual fan structure was redesigned to enhance cooling. At the same time the new generation speakers are also there with loud sound, doubled then previous version.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro price starts at $1799 and the 15-inch variant costs $2399. Both the models starts shipping in 2-3 weeks.
