Meridian’s contribution consists of using various technologies to improve the sound. It starts from the ability to perform an “up-mix” of stereo sources (two-channel audio to multiple), distinct channels without generating any distortion while maintaining tonal balance, the Meridian Upmix technology increases sound immersion by improving the sound field while upgrading the clarity of vocals and lead instruments.

There is also the “Bass & Space technology” – improves the soundstage and envelops listeners in rich, uncompromising sound and strong bass and the “Image Elevation technology to lift the soundstage and envelops listeners in rich, uncompromising sound in a more lifelike way to boost listeners’ sense of immersion.

LG SL10, SL9, and SL8 support the Dolby Atmos and DTS: X formats, the two “object-based” technologies currently available on the market. Users can expand the 2019 soundbars capabilities using the SPK 8 wireless kit. This also adds the back channels via a wireless speaker. Complete the provision of support to Google Assistant, useful both to control all functions and to control other “smart” devices in the house.

Few details are available on the characteristics of the individual models. The SL9 has a height of 57 mm and can be installed on the wall with the streamlined appearance (in this way the thickness is reduced to a minimum). An integrated gyroscope sensor gauges the position of the product, adjusting sound directionality to guarantee the optimal listening experience.

The SL10 is instead shown in conjunction with an external wireless subwoofer. SL10 and SL9 were also awarded at the 2019 CES Innovation Awards.
