Moto Z Play and Moto Z can be Pre-Order in USA, Launches on October

Motorola Moto Z Play from the house of Motorola / Lenovo is now up for pre-order in the USA via Amazon and BestBuy online stores. Moto Z Play price in USA is set to $449.99 for the contract-free unlocked model and will start shipping from October 20, 2016. The handset is available in Lunar Grey color only on both stores.

Moto Z Play is a mid-range smartphone that also supports the modular ‘Moto Mods’ accessories. It can get attached to 12 “magic pins” that are located at the bottom back of the device. These Moto Mods consist of a Moto Insta-Share Projector can turn the Z Play into a 70-inch projector, that can project at a wall or ceiling with 90 degree projection angle; the JBL SoundBoost will boost audio;  the swappable Moto Style Shells use premium materials and the Moto Shells will increase battery life up to 22 hours.

The handset features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution that is rated to deliver a high pixel density of 403ppi. The screen is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor that is backed by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC and teamed with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory, which can further be expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card.

On the camera front, the Z Play bears a 16-megapixel primary autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.3 µm pixel size, Laser Auto Focus, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and dual-tone LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens and front LED flash for bright selfies and video calling. It also houses a fingerprint scanner at the front and has a water-repellent nano-coating, front-ported loud speakers along with 3-mics. 

The device runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and packs in a 3,510mAh battery with Turbo Charging support. It supports single SIM, 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, USB Type-C, and NFC as connectivity options.

Along with the Moto Z Play, both Amazon and BestBuy online stores also listed the Motorola Moto Z 64GB variant in Lunar Grey color option. It has been priced at $699.99 and will go on sale starting from October 2nd, 2016.
