Meizu M5s has been quietly launched in China. It is the latest affordable smartphone device from the company, and it is said to be an upgraded variant of the Meizu M3s was launched back in June 2016. The Meizu M5s price in China is set to 799 Yuan – approximately $116 for 16GB ROM and 999 Yuan – approximately $145 for 32GB storage variant. The handset is available in Rose Gold, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold and Star Gray color options and it will go up for pre order in China starting from 20th February.

The Meizu M5s features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution, along with 1000: 1 contrast ratio and 2.5D curved glass layer on top of it. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz octa-core processor that’s fueled by 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 chipset with Mali-T760 GPU. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and comes with 16GB / 32GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB with the help of microSD card slot.
On the camera front, the M5s has a 13-megapixel autofocus primary camera sensor from Sony on the back with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, 5P lens, and dual tone LED flash. It shoots Full HD 1080p video at 30fps. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide f/2.0 aperture to capture wide group selfies and high quality video chatting. The handset also equipped with a mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button to unlock the device quickly.
The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with FlyMe OS 6.0 interface on top. It packs a 3000 mAh battery with fast charging, and the company claims that a 10 minutes charge can charge the M5s from 0 to 19 percent. It has a dual SIM card slot on board along with 4G VoLTE connectivity, apart from 4G includes 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, USB OTG, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio connectivity options. It measures 148.2 x 72.5 x 8.4mm and weighs 143 grams.
