Along with the M5 Note, Meizu China has also introduced its first fitness band in its collection of accessories – the Meizu Band. It comes with an integrated OLED touchscreen display under the strap that lights up at the right time. It has been priced at CNY 229 – approximately $33 USD, and can be pre-ordered in China, and will be shipped from 8th December.
The Meizu Band is able to notify you the events, time, track your daily steps, sleep monitoring, calories and heart rate via the built-in AMS heart rate sensor. It uses Bluetooth functionality to connect with your phones to get incoming calls, messages, and also enable find a phone feature too. You can also set a reminder to help remind you to get up.
Meizu claims that the Band should be last for 7 to 15 days of normal usage, depending on the various active modes and usage of the heart rate sensor. The Meizu Fitness Band is IP67 certified which means it can resist to water splashes and dust. The band will also monitor your sleep patterns and features a built-in snooze alarm which wakes you up softly.
In addition, it boasts the support not only for Android, but also supports iOS as well. There is also Chinese application to record user’s data, while the a third-party English app will soon be released. Charging the Band is also an easy process since it comes with a magnetic USB charging cable that sticks to the device.
