Marantz has announced ND8006, a very interesting product for those looking for all-around music systems. In fact, we are talking about a Marantz CD player that goes well beyond simply reading compact discs. The Marantz ND8006 supports CD and CD-R / RW with MP3 or WMA. Besides it, there is a lot more.
Let’s start with the digital-analog converter (DAC) ESS9016 at 192kHz / 32-bit. The DAC can be used on all digital inputs: optical, coaxial and asynchronous USB. High resolution files up to 384kHz / 32-bit and 2.8MHz, 5.6MHz, and 11.2MHz DSDs are supported. As for other compatible Hi-Res formats, ND8006 can read FLAC up to 192kHz / 24-bit, 96kHz / 24-bit ALAC, WAV up to 192kHz / 24-bit. Of course, there are also the most canonical MP3 and AAC.
Inside the chassis, we find HDAM modules (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules), used to guarantee a wide dynamic range and a low distortion. The headphone output is managed by an HDAM-SA2 module with three gain levels (low, medium and high). Marantz has also developed the Marantz Musical Digital Filtering (MMDF), developed specifically for this product.
The connectivity options on this Marantz CD player are very wide: we find an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi dual-band, Bluetooth, an RS-232C port, a front USB port, optical and coaxial outputs and analog outputs. Apple AirPlay technology, streaming from music services such as Tidal, Deezer, Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Internet radio as well as built-in HEOS technology allows you to stream and playback your favorite music wirelessly from unlimited sources.
The Marantz ND8006 CD player complete with preserving sound quality along with an individual “OFF mode” setting allows unused sections of the ND8006 to be switched off to avoid any chance of interference, and to keep the audio source signal paths in use as pure as possible for further improved sound quality.
Marantz ND8006 price in Europe is £1099 and will be available in black and silver-gold color options in January 2018.
